On November 1st, 2024, Spyros Galanis gave a talk at the Athens University of Economics and Business, on prediction markets and their potential for firms to be used as tools for forecasting and decision-making. He also presented the Calimantic.com platform (co-developed with Christos Ioannou) that runs prediction markets with firms. There were around 60 attendants, firms from the banking, energy, consulting, education, and shipping sectors, as well as academics and students.

The event was funded by Spyros’ ESRC grant and it was a collaboration between the DREAM Research Centre of the Durham University Business School and the Economics Department at AUEB. A huge thank you to Evangelos Dioikitopoulos, director of EMOP, for the exceptional organization in Athens.
